Job Description

We are looking for a unique individual to join our team as a Fragrance Chemist at Jo Malone London. The ideal candidate will be an experienced chemist with an eye for detail, a creative spirit, and a passion for crafting fragrances. You will work closely with the Creative Director to develop and perfect signature scents for Jo Malone London, as well as help to create and maintain a library of fragrances. To be successful in this role, you must be a highly organized individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen eye for detail. A degree in Chemistry, or a related field, is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and perfect signature scents for Jo Malone London in collaboration with the Creative Director.
  2. Maintain a library of existing fragrances for Jo Malone London.
  3. Perform laboratory tests and experiments to create new scents.
  4. Analyze and assess the effectiveness of existing fragrances.
  5. Utilize advanced analytical techniques to analyze and identify compounds in fragrances.
  6. Ensure safety protocols are followed in the lab.
  7. Document all laboratory processes and results.
  8. Research new materials and products to be used in fragrance development.
  9. Maintain a high level of organization in the lab.
  10. Communicate effectively with the Creative Director and other team members.
  11. Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to inform fragrance development.
  12. Utilize problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues during the development process.
