
EEG Technician- Neurology
We at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center are looking for an experienced and highly motivated EEG Technician- Neurology to join our team. In this role, you will provide diagnostic EEGs and long-term monitoring studies to patients in a hospital setting. You must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a strong sense of patient care and empathy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience as an EEG Technician and will be a certified EEG Technologist (R. EEGT). Responsibilities:
- Perform EEGs and long-term monitoring studies in a hospital setting in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Follow safety guidelines when performing EEGs and long-term monitoring studies.
- Maintain up-to-date records, including patient demographics and test results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other medical staff, providing support and education as needed.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues related to EEGs and long-term monitoring studies.
- Assist the medical team with patient care, as needed.
- Monitor patient status throughout the EEG and long-term monitoring studies.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and JCAHO regulations and guidelines.
- Keep current on all new techniques, technologies, and standards related to EEG and long-term monitoring studies.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current on best practices.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Completion Of An Eeg Technician Training Program
Current Registration With The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret)
Minimum Of One Year Of Experience In Eeg/Evoked Potential
Knowledge Of Neurophysiology
