Patient Assistant

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is looking for a Patient Assistant to join our team. In this position, you will be an integral part of providing excellent care to our patients. We need someone who is passionate about their work and is committed to providing outstanding service to our patients. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of customer service experience. Additionally, knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures is preferred. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, the Patient Assistant must have a commitment to excellence and a desire to provide compassionate care to our patients.

Responsibilities of the Patient Assistant:

• Greet and check-in patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Schedule, coordinate, and confirm patient appointments.
• Collect patient information including medical and insurance information.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Assist patients with completing all necessary paperwork and forms.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
• Assist providers and other staff with patient care and administrative tasks.
• Document patient information accurately and completely in the medical records.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow up with patients to ensure satisfaction with their care.
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a commitment to excellence.
