Job Description

At Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, we are searching for an experienced Patient Insurance Registrar to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in our organization, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care while ensuring that their medical bills are properly processed and paid. The ideal candidate must have a compassionate and knowledgeable approach to patient care, and the ability to accurately and efficiently process insurance forms. Responsibilities:

  1. Verify patient insurance eligibility to ensure that medical bills are properly processed and paid.
  2. Input patient information and insurance data accurately and efficiently into the computer system.
  3. Answer patient inquiries and provide support regarding insurance coverage and payment options.
  4. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA regulations.
  6. Stay current with changes in insurance regulations and policies.
  7. Generate reports and update patient records.
  8. Work collaboratively with other departments to complete paperwork and ensure accuracy of billing.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and assist patients in navigating the insurance process.
