We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our team at the Transgender Adolescent Clinic. This role will play a crucial part in providing support and guidance to transgender adolescents and their families as they navigate their unique challenges and journeys. As a Social Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families.   1. Provide individual and group counseling services for transgender adolescents and their families.
  2. Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans based on the unique needs of each patient.
  3. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  4. Serve as an advocate for the rights and needs of transgender adolescents and their families.
  5. Educate patients and their families on resources and support networks available to them.
  6. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for patients and their families.
  7. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  8. Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to transgender healthcare.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in transgender healthcare.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice in all job duties.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance services for transgender patients.
  14. Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to provide holistic care for patients.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
  16. Represent the Transgender Adolescent Clinic and Johns Hopkins Medicine in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work (Msw) From An Accredited Institution, With A Focus On Adolescent Mental Health And Gender Identity Development.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With Transgender Or Gender Non-Conforming Youth, Preferably In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Needs Of Transgender Adolescents, Including Access To Healthcare, Discrimination, And Family Dynamics.

  • Ability To Provide Culturally Competent And Affirming Care, Including Knowledge Of Current Best Practices In Gender-Affirming Healthcare.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Support And Resources To Caregivers And Families Of Transgender Adolescents.
