  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive capital planning strategy for the university, in alignment with the overall mission and goals of the institution.
  2. Oversee the management and maintenance of all university facilities, including buildings, grounds, and utilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
  3. Develop and manage the annual budget for capital projects and facilities maintenance, and ensure that all projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and prioritize facility needs and develop long-term plans for the university's physical assets.
  5. Lead and manage a team of facilities and project management professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects and responsibilities.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in facilities management, and make recommendations for improvements and innovations that align with the university's goals and values.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes related to facility management and construction, including safety, accessibility, and environmental standards.
  9. Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related issues, and work closely with university leadership to address any emerging concerns or challenges.
  10. Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the facilities department, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment for all staff.
  11. Act as a representative of the university in all matters related to capital planning and facilities management, both internally and externally.
  12. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and community members, to ensure their needs are considered and addressed in all facility-related decisions.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Facilities Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Managing Large-Scale Facilities, Preferably In An Academic Or Healthcare Setting. They Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Building Systems, Maintenance, And Construction Processes.

  • Strong Financial Acumen: The Director Of Capital Planning & Facilities Management Will Be Responsible For Managing A Significant Budget And Overseeing Capital Projects. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Financial Background And Be Able To Effectively Manage Resources To Ensure Cost-Effective Operations.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: This Role Will Involve Leading A Team Of Professionals, Including Architects, Engineers, And Facilities Staff. The Candidate Should Have Proven Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Diverse Team Towards A Common Goal.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Compliance: The Director Will Be Responsible For Ensuring Compliance With All Relevant Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Facilities And Construction. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Building Codes, Safety Regulations, And Environmental Standards.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Director Will Be Required To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Leadership, Faculty, Staff, And External Partners. Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For Effectively Managing Relationships And Presenting Complex Information To Diverse Audiences.
