  1. Prepare and process tissue samples for analysis according to established protocols and standard operating procedures.
  2. Perform routine and specialized histological procedures, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting, with precision and accuracy.
  3. Utilize a variety of laboratory equipment and instruments, including microtomes, tissue processors, and microscopes, to perform tasks.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, ensuring proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  5. Adhere to strict quality control measures and assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  6. Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and other laboratory staff to ensure efficient and timely processing of samples.
  7. Keep accurate records of all procedures and results, and assist in data analysis and interpretation as needed.
  8. Continuously expand knowledge and skills in histotechnology through participation in trainings, workshops, and conferences.
  9. Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance of laboratory equipment and processes.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication with colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of yourself and others in the laboratory.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new techniques and procedures.
  13. Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of histotechnology and contribute to departmental research projects.
  14. Provide excellent customer service to patients and physicians, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) By The American Society Of Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Histotechnologist In A Clinical Or Research Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Histological Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining.

  • Experience With Advanced Histological Techniques Such As Immunohistochemistry And In Situ Hybridization.
