- Create a safe and supportive environment for expecting parents to ask questions and express their concerns about childbirth.
- Stay current with new research and developments in the field of childbirth and incorporate this knowledge into classes.
- Build relationships with expecting parents and provide them with ongoing support and resources throughout their pregnancy and beyond.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians and midwives, to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to childbirth education.
- Utilize various teaching methods, including visual aids, simulations, and group activities, to engage and educate expecting parents.
- Maintain accurate records of class attendance and feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve the childbirth education program.
- Advocate for expecting parents and their birth preferences, while also preparing them for unexpected outcomes or complications.
- Serve as a resource for the community, promoting the importance of childbirth education and its impact on positive birth outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the childbirth education program to meet the needs of the community and align with best practices in the field.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field
Certification As A Childbirth Educator From A Recognized Organization, Such As Lamaze, Icea, Or Cappa
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Labor And Delivery Nurse Or In Maternal/Child Health Education
Strong Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Current Trends In Childbirth Education
Excellent Communication And Teaching Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Educate Diverse Groups Of Individuals.
