Job Description

Manages the claims appeals process from initial denial through the appeal process. Participates in the monthly denials meetings; providing recommendations to reduce overall denials across all of MHS revenue cycle. Researches and documents all pertinentdenials information available utilizing payor specific billing, coding, and authorization guidelines and deploys that information to reduce denials. Conducts appeals, rebills, on denials to ensure MHS is being reimbursed according to contracts. Assists in training within the Revenue Cycle for the overall knowledge and understanding of denials and their impacts as well as how to mitigate. Ensures all internal policies and procedures for p denials are maintained with current and accurate information. Provides a monthly report to Denials Committee; showing root cause and corrective actions for denials as well as makes recommendations to further reduce denials.

Job Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in a large healthcare provider, billing and denials environment

  • Proficiency in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, and facilitation is required

  • Ability to research and analyze information based on denials perspectives.

  • HMO, Medicare, commercial payors experience is a plus
