  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  3. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  5. Maintain patient records and complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Continuously educate yourself on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
  7. Adhere to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  8. Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  9. Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service and patient experiences, promoting a positive and compassionate atmosphere.
  11. Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments as needed.
  12. Uphold the values and standards of Kaiser Permanente in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Training: A Bachelor's Degree Or Associate's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution Is Required. Candidates Must Also Have Completed A Clinical Internship Or Practicum In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Ultrasound Technology. Additional Certifications In Specialized Areas, Such As Abdominal Or Obstetrics, May Also Be Required.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer Is Preferred. Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Is Highly Desired.

  • Technical Skills: Strong Technical Skills And Knowledge Of Ultrasound Equipment And Procedures Are Essential. Candidates Must Be Able To Operate And Troubleshoot Various Ultrasound Machines, And Have A Thorough Understanding Of Anatomy, Physiology, And Medical Terminology.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Critical For This Role. Sonographers Must Be Able To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds, As Well As Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals. Compassion, Empathy, And Attention To Detail Are Also Important Qualities For This Position.
