Medical Assistant-Pediatrics

The Medical Assistant-Pediatrics is responsible for providing general medical assistance and support for the pediatric department.Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, professional certification as a Medical Assistant, prior experience in Pediatrics, and demonstrated ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be flexible and comfortable working in an ever-changing environment, and have a positive attitude. Responsibilities: • Provide general medical assistance and support for the pediatric department • Assist in patient care and administrative duties, as needed • Greet and check-in patients and visitors • Schedule appointments and answer telephones • Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies • Ensure patient information is accurate and up-to-date • Assist in the collection of laboratory specimens • Assist physicians during examinations and treatments • Document patient medical histories and other information • Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as directed • Monitor and record patient vital signs • Perform general laboratory testing • Perform EKGs and other diagnostic tests • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and test results • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment • Adhere to all medical policies and procedures
