Medical Assistant- Podiatry

Responsibilities:

1. Assist podiatrists in providing patient care by preparing treatment rooms, organizing equipment and supplies, and setting up for procedures.
2. Greet patients and escort them to treatment rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
3. Take and record patient medical histories, including vital signs and current medications.
4. Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
5. Prepare and administer medications, as directed by podiatrists.
6. Instruct patients on post-treatment care and follow-up appointments.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results and treatment plans.
8. Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
9. Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
10. Continuously educate self on new procedures, techniques, and treatments in podiatry.
11. Adhere to all HIPAA and safety regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
12. Provide support and assistance to podiatrists during patient procedures.
13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with maintaining departmental standards.
15. Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policies and procedures.
16. Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
17. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
18. Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
19. Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
20. Continuously strive to provide excellent patient care and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
