
Medical Assistant- Podiatry

Responsibilities:
- Assist podiatrists in providing patient care by preparing treatment rooms, organizing equipment and supplies, and setting up for procedures.
- Greet patients and escort them to treatment rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
- Take and record patient medical histories, including vital signs and current medications.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
- Prepare and administer medications, as directed by podiatrists.
- Instruct patients on post-treatment care and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results and treatment plans.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Continuously educate self on new procedures, techniques, and treatments in podiatry.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and safety regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide support and assistance to podiatrists during patient procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with maintaining departmental standards.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
- Adhere to all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive to provide excellent patient care and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Certification Or Degree In Medical Assisting: This Is A Foundational Requirement For A Medical Assistant- Podiatry Job At Kaiser Permanente. Candidates Must Have Completed A Medical Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution And Hold A Valid Certification Or Degree In The Field.
Knowledge Of Podiatry Procedures And Terminology: As A Medical Assistant In The Podiatry Department At Kaiser Permanente, Candidates Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Podiatric Procedures, Terminology, And Equipment To Effectively Assist The Podiatrist And Provide Quality Patient Care.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Podiatry Office, Is Highly Desired For This Role. Candidates Should Have Hands-On Experience With Tasks Such As Taking Patient Histories, Performing Basic Lab Tests, And Assisting With Minor Surgical Procedures.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Medical Assistants At Kaiser Permanente Are Expected To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately Is Crucial In This Role.
