
Medical Assistant- Podiatry

- Assist Podiatrists in providing high-quality care to patients.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Take and record patient vital signs and other measurements accurately.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by Podiatrists.
- Assist with minor procedures and treatments, including wound care and dressing changes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care to patients.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and attend training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes.
- Handle any urgent or emergent situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during their visit.
- Continuously strive to provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Candidate For This Position Must Have Completed A Recognized Program For Medical Assistants. This Ensures That They Have Received Proper Training In Medical Terminology, Clinical Procedures, And Patient Care.
Certification As A Medical Assistant: Kaiser Permanente May Require A Candidate To Have A Valid Certification As A Medical Assistant From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Competency Standards.
Knowledge Of Podiatry Procedures And Terminology: As A Medical Assistant In A Podiatry Department, The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Foot And Ankle Anatomy, Common Podiatry Conditions, And Specialized Procedures Such As Nail Removal And Wound Care.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Medical Office Or Clinic Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Daily Operations Of A Healthcare Facility And Has Experience In Patient Care.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Assistant In A Podiatry Department, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Work Collaboratively With The Medical Team.
