Job Description

  1. Conduct comprehensive eye exams and assessments to diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases.
  2. Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, such as eyeglasses or contact lenses, for patients with vision impairments.
  3. Provide counseling and education to patients on proper eye care and preventive measures.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry and new treatment options.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including exam findings and treatment plans.
  7. Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards set forth by the American Optometric Association and state regulations.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other staff members to provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and supplies, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  10. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  11. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
  12. Comply with all Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Optometry (Od) Degree From An Accredited Institution

  • State Licensure As An Optometrist

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Clinical Experience In Optometry

  • Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Build Relationships With Patients.
