  1. Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Register patients for appointments, collect demographic and insurance information, and update patient records as needed.
  3. Schedule appointments and coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient flow of patient care.
  4. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment.
  5. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  7. Collaborate with medical staff to resolve any patient concerns or issues.
  8. Process payments and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  9. Stay up-to-date on insurance requirements and changes in healthcare policies.
  10. Provide accurate and detailed information about services, policies, and procedures to patients and their families.
  11. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
  12. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction by actively listening to feedback and taking appropriate actions.
  13. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the patient experience.
  16. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  17. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient patient flow.
  18. Handle any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Access Representative At Kaiser Permanente Must Possess Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Colleagues.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Insurance Processes: As A Patient Access Representative, It Is Crucial To Have A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Insurance Processes To Accurately Verify Patient Information And Assist With Insurance Claims.

  • Experience With Electronic Medical Record Systems: Kaiser Permanente Uses Electronic Medical Record Systems To Manage Patient Information. A Qualified Candidate Should Have Experience With These Systems And Be Comfortable Navigating And Inputting Data.

  • Customer Service Experience: Patient Access Representatives Are Often The First Point Of Contact For Patients, So It Is Important To Have Previous Customer Service Experience And The Ability To Handle Difficult Situations With Empathy And Professionalism.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: A Patient's Medical Records And Insurance Information Must Be Handled With Extreme Care And Accuracy. A Successful Candidate Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure All Information Is Entered Correctly And Maintained Accurately.
