RN, Inpatient L&D/postpartum

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Labor and Delivery/Postpartum team at Kaiser Permanente. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum, working collaboratively with the entire healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills, and a dedication to providing the highest level of patient care.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field• Active RN license in the state of practice• At least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and/or mother/baby nursing• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and standards of care• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment• Commitment to patient-centered care and patient education• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities• Excellent interpersonal communication and team collaboration skills• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery and postpartum.
2. Monitor patient health and administer medications as prescribed.
3. Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatments, and postpartum care.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies in accordance with the practice.
6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback to improve patient care.
7. Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation.
8. Respond to patient inquiries and address patient concerns in a timely manner.
9. Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
10. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices and standards of care.
