  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess communication and swallowing disorders in patients.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans to address specific patient needs.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated treatment approach.
  5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Educate patients and their families on communication and swallowing strategies to promote carryover of skills outside of therapy sessions.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  8. Stay current on advancements and best practices in the field of speech therapy.
  9. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards related to speech therapy services.
  11. Foster a positive and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other team members.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  15. Adhere to Kaiser Permanente's mission, vision, and values in all aspects of job performance.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: The Candidate Should Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University.

  • State Licensure: The Candidate Should Hold A Current And Valid State License To Practice As A Speech-Language Pathologist.

  • Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Providing Speech Therapy Services In An Inpatient Setting.

  • Certification: The Candidate Should Be Certified By The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha) And Hold A Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc) In Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures, As Well As Experience Working With Patients With A Variety Of Diagnoses, Including Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, And Neurodegenerative Diseases.
