As a Staff Nurse in Labor and Delivery, you will play a crucial role in assisting mothers through labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the health of both mother and baby, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and providing education and support to new parents. Our ideal candidate is a registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience and a current BLS certification.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
  2. Monitor the health of both mother and baby, including vital signs, fetal heart rate, and contractions.
  3. Administer medications and assist with procedures as needed.
  4. Educate and support new parents on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  5. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients and their families.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current labor and delivery practices and continuously improve clinical skills.
  9. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the labor and delivery process.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  11. Identify and intervene in any potential complications during labor and delivery.
  12. Advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs and preferences are met.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff members.
  14. Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente.
  15. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  16. Remain calm and focused under pressure.
  17. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  18. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  19. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  20. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Active Rn License In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Labor And Delivery Nursing

  • Certification In Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (Rnc-Ob) Preferred

  • Bls And Acls Certification Required
