Sterile Processing Tech

We are looking for an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontaminating, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and supplies.The ideal candidate for this position will have at least one year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care facility. They must also have certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM). The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:

1. Decontaminate, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and supplies.
2. Ensure all safety and quality standards are met.
3. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
4. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
5. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
6. Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed.
7. Assist with training of new staff members.
8. Assist in the preparation of operating rooms, including ensuring that all supplies and equipment are prepared and sterilized.
9. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
10. Monitor sterilization cycles and ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment.
