  1. Perform daily sterilization and decontamination of medical instruments and equipment in accordance with industry standards and protocols.
  2. Inspect and assemble instruments and equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly and free of defects.
  3. Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and instruments, restocking as needed.
  4. Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a safe work environment.
  5. Keep accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
  6. Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to ensure proper handling and storage of sterile instruments and equipment.
  7. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions or defects to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for sterile processing.
  9. Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials and biohazardous waste.
  10. Assist in training and mentoring new staff members on proper sterilization techniques and procedures.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all sanitation and safety guidelines.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and timely delivery of sterile instruments and equipment.
  13. Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  16. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings as required.
  17. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician From An Accredited Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Different Methods Of Sterilization, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide, As Well As Knowledge Of Sterilization Equipment And Tools.

  • Understanding Of Infection Control Standards: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Procedures And Standards, Including Proper Handling And Disposal Of Contaminated Materials, To Ensure The Safety Of Patients And Staff.

  • Familiarity With Medical Instruments And Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments And Medical Equipment Used In Various Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Identify And Troubleshoot Issues With Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail And Organization Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills, As They Will Be Responsible For Keeping Track Of And Maintaining An Inventory Of Sterile Supplies And Equipment. Additionally, They Must Follow Strict Protocols And Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Sterilized And Stored.
