  1. Collaborate with the thoracic surgery team to provide high-quality care to patients with thoracic conditions.
  2. Assist surgeons in performing surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative care.
  3. Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
  4. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and any necessary lifestyle changes.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the surgical team.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  7. Stay current on advancements and best practices in thoracic surgery through continuing education and professional development.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, treating all patients with dignity and respect.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and confidentiality.
  14. Assist in the training and supervision of other healthcare professionals, such as medical students and residents.
  15. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and addressed promptly.
  16. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  17. Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Kaiser Permanente in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Thoracic Surgery, Preferably In A Hospital Or Surgical Setting.

  • Active And Unrestricted License To Practice As A Physician Assistant In The State Of Employment, With Current Dea And Bls Certifications.
