- Provide high-quality care to patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs.
- Utilize specialized skills and expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with WOC needs.
- Educate patients and their families on wound, ostomy, and continence care and management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress and respond to changes in their condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in WOC nursing practices.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members regarding WOC nursing.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients receiving WOC care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and processes.
- Comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Continuously assess and identify areas for improvement in WOC care.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Collaborate with community resources to facilitate patient care and support.
- Attend and participate in educational and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their needs.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and interventions.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment.
Certification In Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Nursing (Cwocn) From The Wound, Ostomy And Continence Nursing Certification Board (Wocncb).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Nursing.
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Multidisciplinary Teams And Educate Patients And Families On Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Care.
