Job Description

Kettering Health Network is searching for a passionate and knowledgeable Genetics Counselor - Oncology to join our team! As a Genetics Counselor - Oncology, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive genetic counseling services to patients and their families. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment to assess the genetic risk for hereditary cancer and other genetic conditions. The successful candidate will have a master's degree in Genetic Counseling, be certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or eligible for ABGC certification, and have experience working in an oncology setting. A commitment to providing patient-centered care and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive genetic counseling services to patients and their families.
  2. Assess the genetic risk for hereditary cancer and other genetic conditions.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  4. Ensure patient-centered care and excellent communication skills.
  5. Maintain certification with the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or remain eligible for ABGC certification.
  6. Work in an oncology setting.
  7. Demonstrate a passion for genetics and commitment to helping patients and their families.
  8. Keep up to date with new developments in the field of genetics.
