  1. Provide support and assistance to obstetricians and nurses during labor and delivery procedures.
  2. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their stay in the labor and delivery unit.
  3. Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
  4. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of delivery rooms and equipment.
  5. Anticipate and respond to the needs of obstetricians and nurses during procedures.
  6. Follow all established protocols and procedures to maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients.
  7. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care to patients.
  8. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during labor and delivery.
  9. Attend to the needs of newborns and assist with post-delivery care as needed.
  10. Continuously update and maintain knowledge of current best practices and advancements in the field of obstetrics.
  11. Adhere to all hospital and industry regulations, policies, and procedures.
  12. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Provide compassionate and respectful care to all patients and their families.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the labor and delivery team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed High School Or Obtained A General Education Development (Ged) Certificate.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technician: Ob Technicians At Kettering Health Network Are Required To Have A Current Certification As A Surgical Technician From An Accredited Institution.

  • Previous Experience In Obstetrics: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In An Obstetrics Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Ob Technicians Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Be Able To Accurately Communicate With Healthcare Professionals.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Role Of An Ob Technician At Kettering Health Network Requires Individuals To Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment. Candidates Must Be Able To Remain Calm And Organized Under Pressure.
