Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Secretary to join our team. As a Unit Secretary, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our unit.   1. Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff members.
  3. Maintain accurate and organized medical records for patients.
  4. Schedule appointments and coordinate patient admissions and discharges.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including nurses, physicians, and other support staff.
  6. Order and maintain office supplies and equipment.
  7. Assist with coordinating patient transportation and other logistics.
  8. Monitor and maintain patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  9. Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments for healthcare professionals.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely patient care.
  11. Keep track of inventory and order supplies as needed.
  12. Attend and participate in unit meetings and training sessions.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  14. Provide administrative support to the unit, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.
  15. Assist with patient billing and insurance claims.
  16. Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  17. Respond to patient inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  18. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  19. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by unit manager or supervisor.
