Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and organized Unit Secretary to join our team and support the daily operations of our unit. This role is essential in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care and assistance during their stay with us. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to multitask.   1. Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the unit, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  2. Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
  3. Schedule and coordinate appointments, procedures, and tests for patients.
  4. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  5. Assist with patient admissions and discharges, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and filed appropriately.
  6. Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  7. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  8. Keep the unit organized and tidy, including maintaining patient rooms and common areas.
  9. Collaborate with other unit secretaries and staff to ensure smooth operations of the unit.
  10. Respond to patient and family inquiries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service.
  11. Assist with billing and insurance processes as needed.
  12. Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient safety and confidentiality.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the unit manager or supervisor.

  • Experience In Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Preferred For A Unit Secretary Position At Kindred Healthcare. This Will Ensure Familiarity With Industry Standards, Protocols, And Procedures.
