Job Description

As a MEAT/CLERK, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our meat department runs smoothly and our customers receive the best possible shopping experience.   1. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers by greeting them and assisting with any questions or concerns related to the meat department.
  2. Ensure all meat products are fresh, properly labeled, and displayed attractively in accordance with company standards.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized meat department, including regular cleaning of display cases, equipment, and work areas.
  4. Receive, inspect, and stock incoming meat products, ensuring proper storage and rotation to maintain freshness.
  5. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, identifying slow-moving items, and placing orders as needed.
  6. Prepare and package meat products for sale, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  7. Use proper equipment and techniques to cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meats according to customer requests and department needs.
  8. Collaborate with other departments, such as bakery and deli, to ensure cross-selling and merchandising opportunities are maximized.
  9. Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, pricing, and promotions to accurately answer customer inquiries and make recommendations.
  10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines, to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  11. Provide support to the meat department manager and other team members as needed.
  12. Continuously maintain a positive attitude and uphold the company's values and customer service standards.
  13. Attend training and meetings as required to stay current on departmental changes and new products.
  14. Take initiative to identify and resolve any customer or operational issues that may arise in the meat department.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
