- Perform and oversee complex cytogenetic testing procedures, adhering to established protocols and quality standards.
- Lead and train junior technologists in proper laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all testing and results reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
- Maintain and update laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Keep detailed records of all testing procedures and results.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding test results and any necessary follow-up testing.
- Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of cytogenetics.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain laboratory accreditation.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and procedures.
- Mentor and guide colleagues in their professional development.
- Adhere to all company policies and protocols, including safety and confidentiality.
- Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity in the laboratory.

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Biology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory.
Certification As A Clinical Laboratory Specialist In Cytogenetics (Cg) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Extensive Knowledge And Experience With A Variety Of Cytogenetic Techniques, Including Karyotyping, Fish, And Microarray Analysis.
Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Troubleshoot Technical Issues And Make Recommendations For Process Improvement.
