  1. Perform and oversee complex cytogenetic testing procedures, adhering to established protocols and quality standards.
  2. Lead and train junior technologists in proper laboratory techniques and procedures.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all testing and results reporting.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
  5. Maintain and update laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  6. Establish and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  7. Keep detailed records of all testing procedures and results.
  8. Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding test results and any necessary follow-up testing.
  9. Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of cytogenetics.
  10. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain laboratory accreditation.
  11. Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and procedures.
  12. Mentor and guide colleagues in their professional development.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and protocols, including safety and confidentiality.
  14. Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity in the laboratory.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Biology, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory.

  • Certification As A Clinical Laboratory Specialist In Cytogenetics (Cg) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience With A Variety Of Cytogenetic Techniques, Including Karyotyping, Fish, And Microarray Analysis.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Troubleshoot Technical Issues And Make Recommendations For Process Improvement.
