Specimen Accessioner

As a Specimen Accessioner, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing and labeling specimens for laboratory testing. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of test results and improving patient care. To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a laboratory setting or working with medical specimens is highly preferred. You must also be able to work independently and be able to effectively manage a busy workload. Responsibilities:

1. Accurately and efficiently process and label medical specimens for laboratory testing.
2. Perform data entry into laboratory information systems to ensure accuracy of test results.
3. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
4. Remain current on changes to laboratory protocols and procedures.
5. Handle specimens with safety and care, following all safety protocols.
6. Assist with the maintenance of laboratory records and filing.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work space.
8. Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
9. Follow laboratory policies and procedures.
10. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
