
Faculty - Construction Technology (Carpentry)

- Develop and teach courses in Construction Technology (Carpentry) to students at Long Beach City College.
- Provide hands-on instruction and real-world experience to students to prepare them for careers in the construction industry.
- Maintain a strong knowledge base of current trends and advancements in the construction and carpentry fields.
- Create engaging and relevant lesson plans that align with course objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum enhancements that meet industry standards.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, providing guidance and support for their academic and career goals.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and knowledge in the field of construction and carpentry.
Extensive Experience In Carpentry: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Carpentry, With A Strong Focus On Construction Technology. This Experience Should Include Both Practical Hands-On Work As Well As Teaching Or Training Experience.
Relevant Education And Certifications: A Bachelor's Degree Or Higher In A Related Field Such As Construction Management, Engineering, Or Architecture Is Preferred. Additionally, Certifications In Carpentry Or Construction Technology, Such As The National Center For Construction Education And Research (Nccer) Certification, Are Highly Desirable.
Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Practices: The Faculty Member Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of The Latest Industry Standards And Practices In Construction Technology And Carpentry. This Includes Knowledge Of Building Codes, Safety Regulations, And Emerging Trends And Technologies In The Field.
Teaching And Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Concepts And Techniques To Students Is Crucial For This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Teaching Skills And Be Able To Engage Students Through Hands-On Learning Experiences And Interactive Lectures.
Team Player And Collaborative Attitude: As A Faculty Member At Long Beach City College, The Candidate Must Be A Team Player And Willing To Collaborate With Other Faculty Members And Staff To Develop And Revise Curriculum, Coordinate Projects, And Support Student Success. A Positive Attitude And A Passion For Teaching And Mentoring Students Are Essential For This Role.
