We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and help maintain our campus' heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. As an integral member of our Facilities team, you will play a crucial role in creating a comfortable and safe environment for our students, faculty, and staff.   1. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on campus HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems and develop effective solutions.
  3. Repair and replace faulty components and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary parts and equipment for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  5. Follow safety protocols and regulations while working with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Facilities team to coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  7. Communicate with campus staff and faculty to schedule maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.
  8. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff by responding promptly and professionally to service requests.
  11. Train and mentor other technicians on proper maintenance and repair techniques for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  12. Strictly adhere to Long Beach City College's code of conduct and ethical standards.
  13. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and proper disposal of refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  15. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency repairs.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience And Knowledge In Hvac And Refrigeration Systems: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working With Hvac And Refrigeration Systems, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of The Principles And Components Involved.

  • Certification Or Licensing: Candidates Should Possess Relevant Certifications Such As Epa 608, Hvac Excellence, Or Nate, And Hold A Valid State Hvac/R License.

  • Ability To Troubleshoot And Diagnose Issues: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills And Be Able To Troubleshoot And Diagnose Issues Quickly And Efficiently.

  • Attention To Detail And Safety: Hvac/Refrigeration Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Systems Are Installed And Maintained Correctly. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Safety Protocols To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.

  • Customer Service Skills: Hvac/Refrigeration Technicians Often Work Directly With Customers, So Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential. Candidates Should Be Able To Explain Technical Information In An Easy-To-Understand Manner And Provide Excellent Service To Customers.
