Job Description

Macy's is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Asset Protection Detective to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to think and act quickly. As an Asset Protection Detective, you will be responsible for proactively preventing and minimizing loss within our stores.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two years of loss prevention or security experience, preferably in a retail setting. You must also be able to communicate effectively with customers, store management, and other stakeholders. You should have a keen eye for detecting shoplifting, possess excellent investigative skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively. Additionally, you must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.If you have a strong commitment to customer service and a desire to help Macy's continue to be the premier retail destination, we look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Monitor store activity for any suspicious behavior or shoplifting attempts.
  2. Investigate suspicious activity, apprehend shoplifters, and fill out appropriate documentation.
  3. Utilize video surveillance equipment to spot shoplifters and other potential threats.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to asset protection.
  5. Develop and execute plans to reduce shrinkage and prevent theft.
  6. Train store staff on loss prevention and security best practices.
  7. Work with store management to develop and implement asset protection strategies.
  8. Maintain and update security logs and incident reports.
  9. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  10. Provide feedback to store management on loss prevention and security issues.
