  1. Provide athletic training services to athletes of all ages and skill levels, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations of athletes' physical conditions and create personalized treatment plans.
  3. Communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best care for athletes.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of injuries, treatments, and progress.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest sports medicine research, techniques, and treatments.
  6. Attend practices, games, and events to provide on-site medical assistance and emergency care if needed.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to athletes.
  8. Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention strategies and proper techniques for training and conditioning.
  9. Adhere to all safety and confidentiality protocols.
  10. Continuously evaluate and adjust treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes for athletes.
  11. Assist with the maintenance and organization of athletic training facilities and equipment.
  12. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  13. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  14. Adhere to all state and national regulations and guidelines for athletic training.
  15. Foster a positive and supportive environment for athletes to promote their physical and emotional well-being.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background Is Essential For An Athletic Trainer Position At Mainehealth. Candidates Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or A Related Field Such As Exercise Science Or Kinesiology.

  • Certification By The National Athletic Trainers' Association Board Of Certification (Nataboc): In Addition To A Degree, Candidates Should Also Hold A Current Certification From Nataboc. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The National Standards For Athletic Training And Is Qualified To Practice In The Field.

  • State Licensure: Athletic Trainers In Maine Are Required To Hold A State License In Order To Practice. Candidates Should Have A Current License Or Be Eligible To Obtain One In The State Of Maine.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy, Physiology, And Exercise Science: Athletic Trainers At Mainehealth Need To Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Human Body And How It Responds To Physical Activity. A Strong Background In Anatomy, Physiology, And Exercise Science Is Essential For This Role.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Athletic Trainers Work Closely With Athletes, Coaches, And Other Medical Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Success In This Role.
