  1. Provide compassionate care: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing compassionate care to patients in a behavioral health setting.
  2. Support patients and providers: The main responsibility of the Certified Medical Assistant will be to provide support to both patients and providers in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
  3. Conduct patient assessments: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.
  4. Administer medications: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for administering medications as directed by the provider, ensuring accurate dosages and following proper protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate medical records: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and updated medical records for each patient, ensuring all information is kept confidential and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  6. Assist with procedures: The Certified Medical Assistant will assist providers with procedures such as blood draws, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests.
  7. Educate patients: The Certified Medical Assistant will educate patients on behavioral health practices and provide resources for continued care.
  8. Schedule appointments: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for scheduling appointments for patients and ensuring all necessary follow-up appointments are scheduled.
  9. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The Certified Medical Assistant will collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Adhere to safety protocols: The Certified Medical Assistant will adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  11. Stay updated on industry developments: The Certified Medical Assistant will stay updated on the latest developments and advancements in the behavioral health field to provide the best possible care to patients.
  12. Maintain professional standards: The Certified Medical Assistant will maintain professional standards of conduct at all times, including upholding patient confidentiality and following ethical guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Must Hold A Valid Certification From A Nationally Recognized Accrediting Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).

  • Education: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For The Position, Along With Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program.

  • Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Behavioral Health Setting, Preferably With Experience In Both Administrative And Clinical Duties.

  • Knowledge Of Behavioral Health Practices: A Strong Understanding Of Behavioral Health Practices, Including Mental Health Disorders, Substance Abuse, And Crisis Intervention, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Communication Skills: As A Key Member Of The Behavioral Health Team, A Cma Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Family Members, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Listening Skills, Empathy, And The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds.
