Job Description

Looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at MaineHealth as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with mental health conditions. We are seeking an individual with a strong passion for mental health advocacy and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families.   1. Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals with mental health conditions.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients.
  3. Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and provide appropriate medication management.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
  5. Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization through community outreach and education.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with regulatory standards.
  7. Adhere to ethical and legal principles in all aspects of patient care.
  8. Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in psychiatric care and incorporate evidence-based practices into treatment plans.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  10. Act as a resource and mentor for fellow healthcare team members.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
  13. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Continuously strive for personal and professional growth through ongoing education and training opportunities.
  15. Maintain a valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maine and adhere to all state regulations and requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Pmhnp)

  • Active And Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License In The State Of Maine

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

  • Certification As A Pmhnp Through The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (Aanpcb)

  • Strong Understanding Of Psychiatric Disorders, Treatment Modalities, And Medication Management.
