
Outpatient Coder

- Accurately code and abstract medical records for outpatient services using appropriate coding guidelines and regulations.
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy of coding.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve any coding discrepancies.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and coding software to accurately code and abstract medical records.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely coding.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with billing department to resolve any coding-related billing issues.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance coding skills and stay current with industry updates.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
- Assist in audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines.
- Contribute to the success of the organization by identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure all coding is completed within designated timelines.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification
Knowledge Of Icd-10 And Cpt Coding Systems
Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) And Coding Software
