
Peer Recovery Partner

- Provide peer support services to individuals in the community who are on their journey to recovery and wellness.
- Utilize personal experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges to connect with and support individuals.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for individuals seeking recovery.
- Foster a safe and non-judgmental environment for individuals to share their experiences and struggles.
- Actively listen and provide emotional support to individuals.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate individuals on self-care techniques and coping strategies.
- Assist individuals in navigating resources and services within the community.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with individuals.
- Attend regular trainings and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in peer support.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss individual progress and provide input on treatment plans.
- Document all interactions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals in recovery.
- Remain open-minded and non-judgmental in all interactions with individuals.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon peer support services provided.
Certification As A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Cprs) Through The Maine Association Of Peer Recovery Support Specialists.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Personal Lived Experience In Recovery From Substance Use Disorder Or Mental Health Challenges.
Familiarity With Evidence-Based Recovery Practices, Such As Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, And Trauma-Informed Care.
Strong Interpersonal Skills And Ability To Establish Rapport And Build Relationships With Individuals In Recovery.
Knowledge Of Community Resources And Ability To Provide Referrals And Support For Individuals Seeking Recovery Services.
