- Develop and implement educational programs and resources for expectant mothers and their families to promote healthy pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum experiences.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify and address gaps in perinatal care and resources.
- Conduct outreach and educational presentations to healthcare facilities, community groups, and other organizations to increase awareness and access to perinatal services.
- Provide individualized education and support to expectant mothers and their families, including prenatal and postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and parenting education.
- Stay current with research, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in perinatal care to continually improve and update educational materials and resources.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of perinatal outreach programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for expectant mothers and their families, answering questions and providing referrals to appropriate resources.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain licensure and certifications related to perinatal care and education.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for expectant mothers and their families.
- Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards in perinatal care and education.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all perinatal outreach activities and services provided.
- Act as a positive and professional representative of Mainehealth in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Requirement For A Perinatal Outreach Nurse Educator At Mainehealth Is A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides The Necessary Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice To Effectively Educate And Support Perinatal Patients.
Current Rn Licensure In Maine: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Maine. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Knowledgeable And Compliant With State Laws And Regulations Related To Perinatal Care.
Certified Perinatal Nurse (Rnc-Ob): Mainehealth Prefers Candidates Who Hold A National Certification As A Perinatal Nurse Through The National Certification Corporation (Ncc). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Commitment To Providing Quality Care To Perinatal Patients.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Perinatal Nursing: To Be Considered For The Position, Candidates Must Have At Least 3 Years Of Experience Working As A Nurse In A Perinatal Setting.
