
Mold Designer
The Mold Designer is responsible for collaborating with engineering teams to understand mold requirements, and designing high quality, high precision injection mold tools. Interfaces with design engineers and process engineers on understanding and determining requirements of machined, molded and cast parts and assemblies. Determines material selection, sizing, etc. based on identified design specifications. Design high quality, high precision injection mold tools and prototypes, according to Class 101 mold spec standards. Document mold design through drawings and CAD models and plastic injection molding software (i.e. Moldflow). Oversee mold development as performed by mold making team and electrode designers, to meet production schedules and objectives.
Experience with CNC programming (e.g. MasterCam)
Knowledge of material selection to minimize mold wear
Experience with mold design software (SolidWorks, Moldflow)
Demonstrated knowledge of deferent classes of Plastic injection molds
