  1. Design and develop data architecture and infrastructure for Hadoop and Spark environment.
  2. Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
  3. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and implement data solutions.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with data quality or performance.
  5. Monitor and optimize system performance to meet business needs.
  6. Develop and implement data security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve data processes.
  8. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide access to relevant data and ensure data integrity.
  9. Conduct regular data audits and create documentation for data processes and procedures.
  10. Train and mentor junior data engineering team members.
  11. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on data projects.
  12. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  13. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
  14. Participate in on-call rotation for troubleshooting and resolving data issues.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency In Hadoop And Spark: A Data Engineer At Mastercard Should Have Strong Skills And Experience In Hadoop And Spark, As These Are The Key Technologies Used For Processing And Analyzing Large Datasets In The Company's Data Infrastructure.

  • Experience With Data Architecture And Database Design: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Data Architecture Principles And Database Design, Including Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, And Data Integration Techniques.

  • Programming Skills: Mastercard's Data Engineer Should Have A Strong Programming Background, With Expertise In Languages Such As Java, Python, And Scala. Knowledge Of Other Programming Languages Used In The Hadoop Ecosystem, Such As Pig And Hive, Would Also Be Beneficial.

  • Big Data Experience: The Role Requires Experience Working With Big Data Technologies And Handling Large Datasets. Candidates Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Solutions To Handle Data At Scale.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Data Engineer At Mastercard, The Ability To Analyze Complex Data Sets And Solve Problems Using Data-Driven Insights Is Crucial. The Candidate Should Be Able To Identify Patterns, Trends, And Anomalies In Data And Use This Information To Improve Data Processes And Systems.
