  3. Keep up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of rheumatology, specifically in regards to inflammatory myositis and Sjögren’s syndrome.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout their treatment journey.
  6. Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately and efficiently.
  7. Participate in departmental meetings and conferences to discuss patient cases and share knowledge with colleagues.
  8. Contribute to research projects and publications in the field of rheumatology, specifically related to inflammatory myositis or Sjögren’s syndrome.
  9. Mentor and supervise trainees, including medical students, residents, and fellows, in the field of rheumatology.
  10. Adhere to Mayo Clinic’s policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring quality patient care and safety.
  11. Stay informed of and comply with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (Md Or Do) From An Accredited Institution: A Strong Foundation In Medicine Is Essential For An Academic Rheumatologist, As They Will Be Responsible For Diagnosing And Treating Patients With Complex Conditions Such As Inflammatory Myositis And Sjögren’s Syndrome.

  • Completed Residency In Internal Medicine: An Academic Rheumatologist Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Internal Medicine To Gain A Broad Understanding Of General Medical Conditions And Treatments.

  • Fellowship In Rheumatology: A Fellowship In Rheumatology Provides Specialized Training In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Rheumatic Diseases, Including Inflammatory Myositis And Sjögren’s Syndrome.

  • Board Certification In Rheumatology: Board Certification Demonstrates That An Academic Rheumatologist Has Met The Highest Standards Of Knowledge, Skill, And Experience In Their Specialty.

  • Strong Research Background: Mayo Clinic Values Research And Innovation, Making A Strong Research Background A Valuable Qualification For An Academic Rheumatologist.
