
Ophthalmic Assistant
The role of an Ophthalmic Assistant at Mayo Clinic is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for eye care and patient service. We are looking for a dedicated, organized, and compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to providing excellent patient care and service. An Ophthalmic Assistant at Mayo Clinic will have the opportunity to work with a team of eye care professionals to provide comprehensive ophthalmology care for our patients.The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Ophthalmic Technology and be certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). In addition, the ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience in an ophthalmology setting, preferably in a clinical setting. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask are essential for this role. A successful Ophthalmic Assistant at Mayo Clinic should have excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive ophthalmology care for patients.
- Utilize excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to provide excellent patient care and service.
- Employ a professional attitude and demeanor in all interactions with patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and data.
- Administer tests and treatments as directed by ophthalmologists.
- Assist with patient scheduling, billing, and other administrative tasks.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space.
- Stay up to date on the latest developments in ophthalmology.
