  1. Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual within the organization.
  2. Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by adhering to customer service standards.
  4. Keep track of important phone numbers and extensions to efficiently transfer calls.
  5. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for callers by providing accurate information about the organization and its services.
  6. Handle multiple phone lines and transfer calls quickly and accurately.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  8. Keep track of busy and available lines to ensure efficient use of resources.
  9. Respond to emergency calls and follow established protocols to ensure timely assistance.
  10. Keep track of and report any phone system malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  11. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth call transfers and efficient resolution of issues.
  12. Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  13. Attend training sessions and stay updated on organizational procedures and services.
  14. Collaborate with other switchboard operators to ensure coverage for all shifts.
  15. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and visitors, making them feel cared for and important.
