  1. Provide exceptional care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  2. Manage and treat complex and challenging cases in our state-of-the-art critical care units.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  4. Utilize advanced knowledge and skills in critical care and pulmonary medicine to provide the best possible care for patients.
  5. Monitor and assess patient progress, make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, and communicate updates to the team.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in critical care and pulmonary medicine to continuously improve patient care.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  9. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for all patients.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  11. Serve as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff members.
  12. Attend conferences and seminars to further develop knowledge and skills in critical care and pulmonary medicine.
  13. Continuously demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  15. Complete all administrative tasks and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Critical Care/Pulmonary Intensivist Job At Medstar Health Is A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Is Typically A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree.

  • Board Certification: Candidates For This Position Must Be Board Certified Or Board Eligible In Critical Care Medicine And Pulmonary Disease By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim). This Ensures That The Candidate Has Completed The Necessary Training And Has Demonstrated Competence In These Specialties.

  • Fellowship Training: Medstar Health Requires Candidates For This Position To Have Completed A Fellowship In Critical Care Medicine And/Or Pulmonary Disease. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Advanced Training In These Specialties And Is Well-Equipped To Handle Complex Cases In The Intensive Care Unit (Icu).

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Critical Care And/Or Pulmonary Medicine Is Preferred For This Position. This Experience Should Include Managing Critically Ill Patients In The Icu, As Well As Diagnosing And Treating A Variety Of Pulmonary Conditions.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Critical Care/Pulmonary Intensivist, The Candidate Will Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effective Collaboration And Providing High-Quality Patient Care.
