  1. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  2. Organize and manage electronic and paper medical records, including scanning, indexing, and retrieving information.
  3. Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, making necessary updates and corrections as needed.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure that all necessary information is available for patient care.
  5. Monitor and track patient records to ensure timely completion and compliance with regulatory standards.
  6. Use electronic health record systems and other software programs to input and retrieve patient information.
  7. Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and best practices for health information management.
  8. Follow established procedures for release of patient information to authorized personnel and third parties.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members, healthcare providers, and patients regarding health information concerns.
  10. Adhere to MedStar Health's policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations, in regards to health information management.
  11. Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  12. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
  13. Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field

  • Certification In Health Information Management (Rhia) Or Coding (Ccs)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In An Him Department

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record Systems And Medical Coding Systems (Icd-10, Cpt, Hcpcs)

  • Strong Attention To Detail, Organizational Skills, And Ability To Maintain Confidentiality Of Sensitive Information
