  1. Develop and implement intellectual property strategies and policies in alignment with Medtronic's overall business objectives.
  2. Manage and oversee the company's extensive IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  3. Conduct IP due diligence for potential partnerships, collaborations, and acquisitions.
  4. Provide legal counsel and guidance to internal stakeholders on matters related to IP protection, enforcement, and licensing.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and regulatory, to identify and protect new inventions and technologies.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in IP laws and regulations, and advise the company on potential impact.
  7. Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee all IP-related litigation.
  8. Develop and deliver presentations and training programs on IP matters to educate employees and raise awareness within the organization.
  9. Identify potential IP risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  10. Oversee the drafting and negotiation of IP-related agreements and contracts.
  11. Work closely with business leaders to identify and prioritize IP opportunities for the company.
  12. Represent the company in IP-related proceedings, including patent office hearings and oppositions.
  13. Develop and manage IP budgets and resources effectively.
  14. Mentor and train junior members of the legal team on IP matters.
  15. Uphold the company's ethical and compliance standards in all IP-related activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience Practicing Intellectual Property Law, With A Focus On Patents And Trademarks.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Patent Prosecution, Litigation, And Licensing In The Medical Device Industry.

  • Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School And Admission To Practice Law In At Least One State In The United States.

  • Proven Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Ip Attorneys And Support Staff.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams Within The Company.
