Clinical Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team and provide excellent care to our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for providing vital nursing care and expertise to critically ill patients. By applying your knowledge and experience, you will contribute to the great work that takes place at the ICU.To be successful in this role, you should possess a valid nursing license, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and at least two years of experience in an ICU. You should also possess strong clinical skills, an understanding of patient safety protocols, and be an effective communicator. Responsibilities:
- Assess patient condition and develop treatment plans accordingly.
- Administer and monitor medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and other indicators of wellness.
- Document patient care and update medical charts and records.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Provide emotional support and collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families on health care issues and the treatment process.
- Participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date with advancements in medical care.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for providing quality care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment
Current New York State Registered Nurse Licensure
At Least Two Years Of Clinical Nursing Experience In An Intensive Care Unit
Demonstrated Ability To Prioritize Tasks
Proficiency In Basic Computer Applications
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines.
