
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Pediatric Oncology
We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with expertise in Pediatric Oncology to join the staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). This individual will provide patient care and clinical pharmacy services in accordance with MSK’s standards of practice to improve the care of our pediatric oncology patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, a commitment to collaboration and teamwork, and a deep understanding of pediatric oncology.The successful candidate must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, be licensed to practice pharmacy in New York State, have Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or be eligible to become certified, and have at least two years of post-graduate experience in pediatric hematology/oncology pharmacy practice. Additionally, the candidate must be proficient in the use of electronic medical records and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and clinical pharmacy services in accordance with MSK’s standards of practice to improve the care of pediatric oncology patients.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with pediatric oncology patients and their families to ensure they are receiving the best possible care.
- Participate in and lead multidisciplinary team meetings and/or patient care conferences to ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor patient medication regimens and make appropriate recommendations to the medical team.
- Ensure that all orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review and interpret laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Educate and provide counseling to patients and their families on medication use and side effects.
- Participate in research projects and clinical trials as needed.
- Participate in staff development activities and continuing education to maintain knowledge of current practices.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
