
Flow Cytometry Specialist
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for an experienced Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our world-class team. We are searching for a skilled professional with an eye for detail and a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech medical environment and possess a passion for making a difference in the lives of cancer patients.The successful Flow Cytometry Specialist will be responsible for providing expert technical support for the Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory, including the oversight of instrument maintenance and quality control. In addition, this role will involve collaborating with researchers and clinical staff to ensure accuracy of results and efficient workflow.To be successful in this position, the Flow Cytometry Specialist must have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, a minimum of two years of experience in a research or clinical lab setting, and experience with instrument maintenance and calibration. A strong understanding of flow cytometry instrumentation and techniques is also essential. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical support for the Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory, including the oversight of instrument maintenance and quality control.
- Collaborate with researchers and clinical staff to ensure accuracy of results and efficient workflow.
- Maintain and calibrate flow cytometry instruments.
- Operate flow cytometry instruments and techniques in a safe and effective manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with the flow cytometry equipment.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards for the Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory.
- Create and maintain user manuals and other documents related to the instrument.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clinical personnel and other stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in the field of flow cytometry.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Provide excellent customer service and patient care.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field
