Job Description

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for an experienced and passionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide essential care to patients undergoing cancer treatments. You will play an important role in helping patients to navigate their cancer journey and must be able to work with empathy, compassion, and discretion. To be successful in this role, you should have at least two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, ideally in a similar role. A certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification is preferred. You should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a commitment to patient safety and high quality of care. Knowledge of cancer treatments and associated protocols is a plus. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatments.
  2. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and discretion when helping patients navigate their cancer journey.
  3. Maintain a commitment to patient safety and high quality of care.
  4. Communicate with patients and healthcare staff to assess and address needs.
  5. Monitor patient health and well-being.
  6. Provide assistance with mobilizing patients, bathing, feeding, and other basic needs.
  7. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  8. Follow all hospital and healthcare protocols.
  9. Document patient care and progress in medical records.
  10. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
